When love is not in red it is not love..smile smile!!

Somethings are just meant to be. Some people are just meant to come into our life’s and make a beautiful rhapsody of it. Destiny just sends them to pour some whiskey and flavor up our life on rocks . Yes, it comes in the most unexpected time in the most unexpected form and lights up your life like Christmas and the lights stay on. The flame never goes out. That’s how love for me is. A wild lift off. Passionate. Perpetual tachycardia that does not get lethal though. I can mediate for calming myself down but love for me is not that. It’s energetic. Always been that way with lots of mass times accelerations acting around. It is stormy and it’s the best form of storm you would want to get caught in. The fights ,the lorry full of sorry that follows(always that’s me though!) , the fist fights at times (ending up with my glasses breaking..sigh!!),the sleepy 3 AM talks, the intimacy, the vulnerability, sharing something’s ,attempts to understanding someone, the birthdays, the doing things together  and especially the making them breakfasts in the mornings and the nothingness at times, all that just all of it that it is. As is rightly said loving someone deeply gives us deep courage somehow in all fiery spirits. In a few well-chosen words if I can sum up my meaning of love till now I can say as very succinctly expressed by Alexandre Dumas in his famed book “The three musketeers”, “Love is the most selfish of all the passions”. A happy them is a happy me. Taking care of someone you love is sacred for me. It gives me immense happiness .I love myself a lot(trying to at least)  and I do not expect ever to be loved back the way I love them else it will get boring with too  much love fires bubbling around. I like it when it is a concoction of challenging, calming and honestly phenomenal. The best feeling in the world for me is to have someone to care for and be there for, to treasure, to win with, to loose with, to stare at with wonder, to hold, to be held back, to  cry with, to hold hands, to cook for(pun intended because I suck at cooking..duh!!!) and just all of it.

And then when its time for this love for this firework to leave I am never ready. Somewhere between the sky just transitions and this sudden shift I deny to accept. I turn out to become a humanized cactus for the days that follow. An epic mess of emotions running too deep draining myself down in spirits of all form ,lamenting with robust guitar beats on my woofer so that I don’t hear the cacophony going inside my mind and heart , drunk dialling and emotions reaching till stratosphere and the same time hitting rock bottom. The ache always stays but yes I learn to live with it. The persons coming into our life was a blessing be it for finite time and its better to remember the time well spent rather than the way things ended or as I like to say when things took a turn. As its rightly said the magic is in the mess. So it’s all right if you are vulnerable if you are wearing your emotions on your sleeves. We learn the most exciting life lessons by going through intense life experiences and not by avoiding them. So say cheers to love whenever it knocks but yes take care of yourself always. Your self-respect and your emotions never let it become anyone’s doormat. Take risks but make sure he/she is worth it.Be fearless in pursuit of what your heart beats for. But just let it be too when its time.  Life has been very gracious to me and I have been abundantly blessed. No matter what situations I have been through the love we built will never tear me apart. There is no last exit from anyone because they had me and I had them for a finite time may be but that nobody can take away from me. No one can ever replace anyone because all of us are made of such beautiful specific details and they become a part of YOU.

I know one thing for sure, love will be lovelier every time it comes around and if it does not I have myself for me. I will always say the sorry and have breakfast and pressed clothes ready before we leave for work. Forever and always….

Geosmin–Mother Earths perfume!!

1)Its an organic compound.

2)PETRICHOR- is the scent of rain on dry earth.;petra-stone; ichor, the fluid that flows in the veins of the gods in Greek mythology. It is defined as “the distinctive scent which accompanies the first rain after a long warm dry spell”.

3)Human Nose is extraordinarily sensitive to the compound GEOSMIN.

4)Geosmin is produced by several classes of microbes, including cyanobacteria and actinobacteria (especially Streptomyces), and released when these microbes die.

5) Communities whose water supplies depend on surface water can periodically experience episodes of unpleasant-tasting water when a sharp drop in the population of these bacteria releases geosmin into the local water supply. Under acidic conditions, geosmin decomposes into odorless substances.

6)In 2006, the biosynthesis of geosmin by a bifunctional Streptomyces coelicolor enzyme was unravelled. A single enzyme, geosmin synthaseconverts farnesyl diphosphate to geosmin in a two-step reaction.

7)Streptomyces coelicolor is the model representative of a group of soil-dwelling bacteria with a complex life cycle involving mycelial growth and spore formation. Besides the production of volatile geosmin, it also produces many other complex molecules of pharmacological interest; its genomesequence is available at the Sanger Institute.

8)Geosmin is responsible for the earthy taste of beets and a contributor to the strong scent that occurs in the air when rain falls after a dry spell of weather (petrichor) or when soil is disturbed.

9)The human nose is extremely sensitive to geosmin and is able to detect it at concentrations as low as 5 parts per trillion.

10)Geosmin is responsible for the muddy smell in bottom-dwelling freshwater fish such as carp and catfish. Cyanobacteria produce geosmin and 2-methylisoborneol, which concentrate in the skin and dark muscle tissue. Geosmin breaks down in acid conditions; hence vinegar and other acidic ingredients in fish recipes help reduce the muddy flavor.

11)The smell after a rainstorm is also attributed to geosmin. (The smell before the rain is ozone.)

12)Geosmin has an exceptionally low detection threshold of the order of 10-100 ppt.

13)Besides its pleasant, characteristic earthy aroma, geosmin is also associated with an undesirable musty odor or off flavor in drinking water, as well as in wine, fish, and other food stuffs, making its detection and elimination important in the management of water and food quality.

14)What could be the role of a metabolite like geosmin? Surely it cannot be just to give wine and water a different taste. There are a number of hypotheses. Some think it may be for defensive reasons: produce a pong and predators will steer clear from their prey. But geosmin could also be a sly way of promoting sporulation. The particular fragrance let off by geosmin usually occurs where humidity is involved. Camels may well smell out an oasis by sniffing the air for traces of the fragrant metabolite. While camels quench their thirst, hordes of Streptomyces spores will be supped with the water or will find a way to stick onto the animals’ hides. In this way, spores can be carried for miles. In the same way, some cacti flowers may also use the geosmin scent to fool insects, in a sort of fragrant mimicry. Indeed, insects are attracted to the plants in the hope of a little refreshment, and in their quest for water, they actually serve as pollinators!

I am a biotechnologists still struggling  yet to taste science as it is:the fundamental science. With sunshine and stormy days of life I have learnt to enjoy the journey rather than worrying for where I would finally end up in..I have never been a “good student” but I am only passionately curious and committed to do what I have to do and never will give up pursuing what I believe in.I have always been inquisitive kind…ready to learn with an empty mind anything new, provided it tickles the “curiosity bone” in me..

I strongly believe just observing simple  things  around you  and imagining the nature itself has solutions to every question that remains unanswered till date. But we all are not blessed with that spark of brilliance within us..So if you want to drink from the fountain of knowledge then first accept that you are empty & thirsty. You do not have to fear ignorance. Its important to have the spirit of wanting to know. Its pretty OK not to know .As a tale goes,a university professor went to visit a famous Zen master. While the master quietly served tea, the professor talked about Zen. The master poured the visitor’s cup to the brim, and then kept pouring. The professor watched the overflowing cup until he could no longer restrain himself. “It’s overfull! No more will go in!” the professor blurted. “You are like this cup,” the master replied, “How can I show you Zen unless you first empty your cup. Accepting ignorance  and knowing your extents of ignorance is what you determine for yourself with knowledge.

I do a lot of reading but I have a problem of retaining stuff in my neurological circuit. So just thought a blog would be a good idea of using the world wide web services every time I learn something..It would be a medley of anything under the sun that is new for me or I feel like posting.

So I guess I hope just to be passionate about discovering about unfolding my life as it comes every morning with the warm rays of sun and  a cup of hot coffee..

Cheers to life..
